Yay for me! I remembered I have an LJ! I will start by saying the 5th Harry Potter is just fricking awesome. I CANNOT wait until the 6th one is released. I am going to be a nerd and go get it at midnight. I will also mention that "Find Your Grail" from Spamalot is a great song. Sara Ramirez is also fricking awesome. I'm really glad she won the Tony. And Norbie too, of course. :-D Let's see...what has been happening??? Apartment looking, furniture looking, etc. Hung out with Ashley Friday night - we basically went to every place that was open. There is NOTHING to do when you are 20 in this stupid city. We wanted to go to Dallas, but 20 is a pretty useless age there, too. So we went to the QT and I bought cotton candy in a tub. It was exciting. Then I went home and slept for like 5 minutes and then I got to get up and go to the funeral. I HATE funerals. They are scary and weird. Memorial services are the way to go, man. Even still...I think I am just gonna leave everybody who would've gone to my funeral money in my will and tell them to buy themselves something pretty or give it to charity and not make them come to a creepy funeral for me. Wow...that's macabre. Sorry. I need to change the date for my dentist appointment. That's not important, but I need to remember it. Oh, so back to my weekend. So after the funeral, I came home and changed clothes and went to Batman Begins with Ashley. It was good, but I was so sleepy that I fell asleep in the first five minutes. Then when I woke up it was all action-packed. Good movie. So then I came home and was sleepy so I read Harry Potter in bed 'til I fell asleep. Worked this morning. Went well, I suppose. Had a delicious lunch. Went to see the grandparents. Watched The Simpsons, a Broadway DVD, ordered Candide (w/ Kristin Chenoweth), Into the Woods, and Les Mis Dream Cast DVDs from Amazon. Shame on me. I can really only afford one of those. But I bought all three, so whatcha gonna do? Alright. I am tired. Goodnight all.

Weelllll...dammit. I have already failed at the updating everyday thing. Let's settle for uploading fairly often and whenever I remember that I have an LJ. So here it is. Today we went looking for apartments. There is one we realllly like, but it's a little bit out of our price range, which is sad, but we should be able to make it work. Anyway, the whole apartment thing is exciting and scary at the same time because everything is so important all of a sudden. Also there is so much responsibility....eeek. just eeek. Also, I don't know what I want to do when I grow up. And that scares me too. I'm pretty much qualified for nothing. And I need more extracurriculars. And I can't decide whether to triple major or double minor. BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM GOING TO DO IN LIFE. eekk again. My great-aunt died two days ago, which was really awful, so I am going to her funeral tomorrow. I HATE funerals. When I die, I'm not doing any of that crap. As if it's my choice at all... :-) Let's see. Other things have been happening, but nothing really of interest. J. called me, which was weird because we hadn't talked in awhile. I didn't call him back for obvious reasons. The whole apartment/no plans for the future thing is freaking me out. I'm really scared. So I am going to go back to re-reading Harry Potter and put off these decisions for a few days.

I am updating for the SECOND DAY IN A ROW. This is part of the whole sticking with the LJ this time thing. Of course, I have very little to say. Woke up at noom (since there was no school!), went to lunch, went to the bookstore and bought lots of things to read once class is over. I organized and transferred a bunch of music and cleaned up my room. Got a new hair straightener, but it doesn't work very well, so I will probably just keep using the old one. Haha...that is so interesting, I'm sure. Just waiting for the next chapter of the hair straightener saga, weren't you? I think I am going to gather all my favorite quotes this summer and type them up or put them in a book or something. I just keep finding quotes I like and I want them to all be in one place. I reallllllly need a tan...we're going to Colorado a week from today and I really want to wear this gorgeous strapless white dress I have from Banana when we go out to dinner but right now I am the same color as the dress... Let's see...what else? Class tomorrow and "Peter Pan" at DSM. I am only sort of excited about that b/c "Peter Pan" has never been one of my faves. Here's hoping 60-year-old Cathy Rigby is still convincing as a boy who doesn't age. Whoa...just when you think 7th Heaven can't get any worse...there it goes. Blecchhh...I better change the channel. Ahh...much better. I need to quite using the "...;" it's getting old. UInfortunately, I rarely finish a thought, so the "..." usually comes in pretty handy. That's about all. We get spanish tests back tomorrow. Ahhh.

No seriously. This time I am doing the LJ thing for real. It's summer, I have the time, and I really do want to do it. Why am I so lazy? I guess if you are here you already know how to get here, but I'm gonna put a link in my AIM profile too.
Anyway, back to important things. Today was only alright. Worked this morning, much drama with the three-year-olds. It's so funny how early cattiness starts. They whisper and gossip...just like big people. So cute...Anyway, though, fighting the fires caused by the baby gossip (+ the fact that we gave them sugar cookies today)tired me out. Luckily I didn't have to babysit tonight, so I got to just lounge around here and be lazy. I have high hopes to clean my room later but it doesn't seem likely. Last night I went over to Ashley's and we watched "Risky Business" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" plus "Darrin's Dance Groove," a dance/workout video produced by the guy who did chereography for Britney Spears and N'Sync. So Ash, Patrick, and I practiced our dance moves to the styles of N'Sync and a very hot Darrin.
NO SPANISH TOMORROW! Ahhhhhhhh! I'm so excited! Only 4 more days...Ackk....then I am done with spanish FOREVER. Garggh...the overwhelming excitement is forcing me to make up words.
Let's see...what else is going on. I can't do a full-out update because the last time I updated was in January. School started, I went, did pretty well, it ended, summer school started, and so it goes...Amanda and I are getting an apartment in July/August so that's happy too.
Tomorrow I need to do a lot of stuff...including studying for spanish. I also want to watch Days of Our Lives 'cause I am feeling a bit behind since Tivo is broken. Damn Tivo...as soon as I become totally dependent on him, he crashes.
Today was Carole, George, and Jennifer's last day in Wicked. We need not go into detail about how much I would have given to be in NY today. At least Michelle Federer is still there. I really believe she will stay forever until she is so old so that she CAN'T get out of the wheelchair during Wicked Witch of the East...or when she does she falls for real off the stage and into the pit. Hmm...What else...can I post pictures in here. Maybe I'll try. Cause I am obsessed with my wall decoration...that will DEFINITELY come to the apartment with me.
Okay, can't think of anything else to say but dammit I WILL keep up with the LJ this time.

Ah, how I have missed the LJ. It has been so long. I have a sincere goal to do the LJ thing again. So what's new....hmmm...what has happened since August. A LOT. A LOT. All my friends got Xangas, I met a guy, I lost a guy, I met a new guy, I may decide to lose him soon. My grades suffered, but are easily fixable...I'm going to NY in a week and a half. And FINALLLY SEEEING AVENUE Q!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND WICKED AGAIN! Am I thrilled to shreds? I might just be. So I am watching Days of Our Lives, talking to Ashley, messing with Facebook, eating, doing a number of things, so the LJ loses. But I swear I'll be back soon.
much love, katie

Yes, it is time to update the LJ. Nothing to say, but it is the IDEA that I am updating that matters. Worked today, which was fine until I shut my finger in a file cabinet drawer. CRAP - that HURTS. A LOT. Like, I still can't type with that finger, which is making me a lot slower. This evening I have to clean up my room and stuff, and eventually I need to start packing. Aahhh...packing. :-o Hey, Mary Tyler Moore is on TV! Oh, speaking of which, so I am talking to my cousin and I mention Mary Tyler Moore, and she says "Who?" Who?! Mary Tyler Moore, that's who! Come on - she had a TV show - THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW. I guess I am just expecting too much. Who knows how many people walking around don't know Mary Tyler Moore from a hole in the ground...It's like on Leno when he does that Jaywalking bit to reveal how frigging ignorant we as Americans actually are. Eekk....it scares me. Wow, this is a really grumpy post. And I'm hungry. So I am going to go eat, and I will leave you with this:
JOEY: Uh... uh, we'll flip for it. Ducks or clowns? CHANDLER: Oh, we're gonna flip for the baby? JOEY: You got a better idea? CHANDLER: All right, call it in the air. JOEY: Heads. CHANDLER: Heads it is. JOEY: Yes! Whew! CHANDLER: We have to assign heads to something. JOEY: Right. Okay, okay, uh... ducks is heads, because ducks have heads. CHANDLER: What kind of scary-ass clowns came to your birthday?

Yeah, sorry bout the last entry....long and pointless. But I was soooo bored. :-) I go through stages of liking LJ and not. There is some massive bitchiness on the Wicked community, which, at times, is awesome, but also makes one too scared to post at other times...and fear is never good. LOL...last night when I went out I taped "Amish in the City" on UPN. I kind of loved it. I talked to my mom today about how crazy it is that the Amish, the most extremely straightlaced group of people EVER have this period of their lives where they can just go out and do whatever with no repercussions. I mean, I don't even have that, and I am definitely NOT Amish. Weird... Anyhow, I am gonna try to fix my LJ (it's being weird) before I go, so I'll end this post. Maybe more later...most likely in a few days.

Updating my LJ??? ME??? Shocking. And to those of you reading this who don't have LJ, don't be silly. Dump your Xanga and join.
What do I have to say? Not much....the only time I update is when nothing is going on, as you may or may not have figured out. I babysat, went out with the girls, saw Sara (who is awesome, as if I need to say that), saw my cousins....tonight I am seeing the tour of Big River done in ASL, which, I have heard, is really awesome, so I'm excited about that. With my rudimentary sign interpretation skills, I should be able to understand a little bit of the signing, but luckily they sing too, for those of us who take like 10 minutes to remember what a sign means. This journal is so gramatically shot to hell...I'm serious. I TRY to be my English major self, but since its such a stream of consciousness thing, it ends up being abysmal. Forgive me. I need a new LJ icon. I'm also hungry. Seriously, so much crap has been going on, but it seems kind of stupid to tell anybody that after the fact, cause you probably already know that it has happened. Oh well. School starts in like a month. I don't really want to go back. I suppose that doesn't really matter to them. Argghh...I need to shower, get food, mail Ebay stuff. Bye all...

It's 1 am, so naturally I am updating my LJ. Looking at other people's LJ's and Xanga's makes me think I should make mine pretty. Or update it. Oh well...
Yesterday was rough - no Wicked, no one to be sad with. It was sad. There were tears.
But all is well now. Well, until I look at the wallpaper I have made (which is beautiful, by the way) of the hugs and sadness at curtain call. Then I cry all over again.
HAHAHA....I am watching Elimidate. It may be the worst show on TV. I hate it, and it sets women's lib back like 80 years, but that doesn't keep it from being hilarious. The women are just vile, though. And the ones who are actually nice get attacked by the other girls for being "goody-goodies" or "too quiet"....ahh, its too funny. Luckily, it reminds all that what really matters to Elimidate guys are your breasts and your tan. Classy, guys, classy...LOL...one of the other girls just told the other she was trash. Oh goodness. Perhaps I don't update and watch this instead...
Oh, good. Commercial...
So back to updating. I need a new icon. I went shopping today. It was fabulous. I met a lady who knows my family who wants me to join some organization that I really don't want to join because her sons did. But she and I have VERY different political views (funny how that happens with me and Texas - you tell them you aren't voting for W. and all of a sudden you are unpatriotic and pure evil), so I don't think I would make a good member of her little organization.
Anywho (I love to say that - makes me sound like such a nerd), thats basically it. Worked yesterday morning, then chatted with other Glitter gals, saw Amanda today, helped Mom organize a rebuttal (lol..long story)tonight. OH, and my computer is being majorly screwy so I took that to get fixed, but no luck there. Apparently there is a problem that needs to be researched - so that is never good.
Okay, sorry, but back to Elimidate. What is the deal with these asshole guys who just stand there while the women insult each other back and forth??? They don't moderate, they just sit back and relax. And here is what I really don't understand - they keep the ones who were insulting one another!! Why? Cause they were the "classy" ones????? EEeeekk...Elimidate makes me sad. (but kinda happy)
Alright, work tomorrow, so sleep now.

Okay...here is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Avril Lavigne is on TV right now. Next to Britney, this girl is one of the most ridiculously untalented currently in the spotlight. It absolutely makes no sense to be that the hordes of people there actually thinks she's good, and don't appreciate ACTUAL talent. What a joke! It is really pissing me off, because when I mention Kristin, Idina, Kerry Butler, Lea Salonga, et al. everyone is like "who???" and yet people know and recognize these people who sing so terribly (i.e Britney, Avril, and the equally crappy limelight stealers). I mean, I could sing 5x better than this, and I am not good. I just don't understand people's lack of sense. Of course, there are a lot of things I don't understand. I don't understand why some jerk would join the Wicked yahoo group just to badmouth Wicked, or how people could go to stagedoor at a show without knowing the actors names. What the hell is wrong with people? OK, I understand that people have different tastes, but if you see Wicked, and see those women perform live, and then you watch Avril perform live...the contrast is laughable. It doesn't make any sense...and it pisses me off. I'm sure I'll be back later to bitch some more, cause I'm PMSing and lots of things are pissing me off.

This summer has all of a sudden gotten insanely busy....what is that? After weeks of doing nothing in June, all of a sudden it is CRAZY. Weird... So I guess this post is kind of pointless, cause I have to go babysit in a couple of minutes...eh... Let's see how much I can say before I have to leave... I got new bedding....and I saw Jessica last weekend (yay for Jessica! I love her) and then...I saw the Notebook, which was extremely predictable, but I still cried like a baby. It was so funny - all the women walking out of the theater were practically sobbing, and the men were looking at them like "what the hell...??" I need to go the gym...I need to go the gym.....after babysitting....(ha! I'm sure that will happen... :P) Ok, gotta go. Sorry bout the pointless post...I don't think anyone really reads this anymore though, so... bye!

Haha..I am so stupid. I was just replying to a Glitter e-mail and I accidentally sent it to the whole group instead of just Jaime. Damn. The ironic part is that it was an apology for e-mailing incorrectly before. Eh well. I hope you can't get kicked out of Glitter for being computer illiterate.... ANYWAY, I definitely need a new icon, and not much has been going on. I got a bunch of new CDs and hung out with people, and....um....what else? Really not much since New York...just working and hanging out with people...regular old summer stuff. But I definitely need another job. Especially if I am going to continue blindly purchasing whatever I see. Yes....that should go on a to-do-list. SO, New York was WONDERFUL. Great food, great fun, great shows. I LOVED it all and I want to go back today. We saw Hairspray, which was great...I love what Carly Jibson did with the part, and I liked her a lot better than Marisa (who is on the CD). Actually, I ended up liking Michael McKean better than Harvey too, which worked out quite well. Oh, and the guy who played Corny Collins (Jonathan Dukochitz or something) was the guy who played Dimitri in Anastasia. That just thrilled the crap out of me, seeing as how I loved that movie for like a year in middle school and I still love the soundtrack. I thought that was great fun. We saw Wicked two nights in a row, one night courtesy of me. The first night may have been the best performance by Kristin and Idina I have ever seen. I would say the best performance overall, cause it was royally awesome, but I missed Joel Grey (even though Sean McCourt totally kicked ass, and I got to meet him afterward). But Kristin and Idina both seemed to be perfect on Friday...Just absolutely stellar. I fell in love with the show all over again. So Saturday we got to go back and see it again, and that night I kept noticing that Kristin was missing a bunch of her cues. My mom and I also noticed that Kristin seemed to be kind of rushing her lines. Then, in I'm not that Girl, during the part where she is supposed to walk across the bridge with Norbert, she didn't come...it was just Norbert by himself. So we started thinking that something was wrong. Then, during A Sentimental Man, she left the scene early, and, in Defying Gravity, at the last part where Elphaba has risen, where she is supposed to sing "I hope you're hhhaappppyy....." and then the ensemble sings "Look at her she's wicked!" but she wasn't there for that part either. So after intermission, the announcer man comes on and says due to illness, she would be replaced by Laura during the second act (Laura did great, I must say, and I would die if I had to follow Kristin ). The blooper part(s) of the evening came from the fact that halfway through the show, Glinda became a different person. Right after Thank Goodness, when Glinda and Elphie first see each other again, Laura came out onstage and Idina goes "Oh my gosh, you've gotten so tall!" The crowd laughed and clapped forever...it was hilarious. And Laura responds "Yeah, its that wonderful wizard of oz...I think my magic's gotten better too." It was so funny!!! Then, at curtain call, when Laura and Idina walked out, Laura was holding a giant poster picture of Kristin labeled Kristin C. and held it and made it take bows and stuff. Idina pushed her in front to take her final bow, and she held the poster with her and bowed with it. It was so great. Anyway, I loved the whole thing...but I gotta say...while I love LBB on the Hairspray CD, she is just not the Glinda I would choose. I was kind of glad to hear that Jennifer Laura Thompson would be taking over the role instead of LBB, so now I am just crossing my fingers and hoping JLT is good. Oh dear,...makes me nervous. Anyway, so we did a bunch of touristy stuff and walked around the city and all. And ate delicious food and did New York-y stuff. I want to go back....today....and see Eden. But sadly, I do not have tickets. Or enough money. Damn. Alright, I suppose that is all that has happened that is worthy of posting. I should go get a job....tomorrow.
